Half Marathon

General Information

There will be three heats: 7 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each heat is limited to 125 participants. The time limit is 2 hours, 30 minutes for each heat. All registrants will receive a t-shirt and goody bag; all finishers will receive a medal. Competitive runners should run in the 7 a.m. heat to be eligible for overall awards. There will be special challenges for runners who want to do multiple heats. The deadline for a guaranteed shirt is July 14. Packet pickup will be on race-day only starting at 6 a.m.

Aid Stations and Storage

There will be a large refreshment station at one end of the track. Runners can keep water bottles in a designated area near the station. Volunteers will be on hand to fill runners' bottles with water and sports drinks upon request. Runners should bring their own bottles as cups will not be allowed or provided due to spillage concerns. There will be another designated area for runners to store extra clothes, drinks, gel packs, energy bars, etc. Each runner will have his or her own designated storage space.

Restrooms

There will be two portable restrooms near the running track. Runners are asked not to use the restrooms in the Pettit Center lobby during the race.

Awards

The top three overall male and female finishers in the 7 a.m. heat only will be given awards at a ceremony at 9:15 a.m. Age group awards will be given out to the top three male and female finishers in all three heats combined in the following age groups: 19 and under; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 and over. There will not an awards ceremony for age group winners and prizes will be mailed.

Lap Counting

The race will be chip-timed. The scorer will use this to get lap counts for runners. There may be a scoreboard to display lap counts. Runners can also request a lap count when they go past the scorer's table on the front stretch, and a volunteer will call of their count the next time around. Several running watches such as Garmin Forerunners have lap tracking capabilities and runners are free to use those to keep track of laps.

Registration

Registration for the half marathon opens in February. The registration fee is $50 in advance and $60 on race-day (if available) and is non-refundable and non-transferrable. If you have registered and are unable to run, you can email us at info@indoormarathon.com and we will have your shirt mailed to you.
